Get Report of User Licenses in Office 365 with Friendly License Name

Description

In Office 365 the license names are found in the AccountSkuID attribute. Unfortunately the names can often be confusing and often times it’s hard to match the SKU to the friendly license name. Using a hash table I created a script that will parse all users that are licensed in your tenant, match all of their licenses from the SKU to the friendly name in the hash table and export the users DisplayName, UserPrincipalName and License Name to a CSV file.

The CSV File will look similar to the one below:

The console will let you know which user it is parsing, and which license its looking up in the hash table

Resolution

  1. Copy over the script below
  2. Modify Line 87 to point to where you would like the CSV results to save to
  3. Run the script, it will display its progress in the console window. Any SKU it cannot find in the Hash table will display an error. As Microsoft continues to change or add SKU’s I will update the Hash Table in the article and on GitHub
