Insall and Configure VCSA 5.5

  1. Login at my.vmware.com
  2. Download the OVA file
  3. Log into VSphere
  4. in vSphere click File>Deploy OVF Template
  5. Click Browse
  6. Browse to the OVA file and select Open
  7. Click Next
  8. Click Next
  9. Enter in a name and select Next
  10. Select the storage destination for the virtual machine files
  11. Select your virtual disk format
  12. Select the network
  13. Select Finish
  14. Once it’s complete click Close
  15. Verify that the Network Adapter is VMXNET3
  16. Power on the VM
  17. Go to a web browser to configure your appliance
  18. Use the default VCSA Password
    Username: root
    Password: vmware
  19. Select Set Custom Configuration
  20. Select a Embedded Database
  21. Create a new administrator@vsphere.local password
  22. Select if you want to integrate with Active Directory and click Next
  23. Configure your time sources
  24. Review your configuration and then press Start
  25. Once finished click close
  26. Configure the network
  27. Reset the administrator password if it did not take it in the earlier configuration
  28. In a web browser navigate to your appliance
    ex: https://192.168.2.69/
  29. Select Login to Vsphere web client
  30. Login
  31. Click Here to get started
  32. Click Create a DataCenter
  33. Create a DataCenter name and click Next
  34. You must have your VCSA License before proceeding!
  35. Go to Administration>Licenses and add your licenses
  36. Assign the license
  37. Go back to your Datacenter and right click and add host
  38. Enter the IP of your host and click Next
  39. Enter your vSphere credentials for the host
  40. Assign a license
  41. Configure Lock-Down mode to fit your needs
  42. Configure the VM location
  43. Review your settings and click finish
